Glaze Screening and Transfer
Using a range of materials I create screens to apply glaze and oxides
to bisque ware. Like silk screening, this process forces the glaze,
thickened with a gum powder, through the screen to be absorbed by the
still porous clay. Most recently, I’ve been experimenting with images
made with leaves from a cardinal vine I grew in my garden, swatches of antique kimonos I found in Japan, and drawings from nature.
